Severity, and measured versus inferred

What critical, high, medium and low mean, and how we label how sure we are.

Every finding carries a severity, shown with a color and a symbol so it never depends on color alone:

  • Critical (triangle): stops AI engines or search from reading or trusting you. Fix first.
  • High (diamond): a significant problem most sites should fix soon.
  • Medium (dot): worth fixing; it adds up.
  • Low (circle): polish.
  • Info: a choice or a note, never counted against you. Blocking AI training crawlers is an example.

Each finding is also labeled measured (we observed it directly, for example a robots.txt rule) or inferred (a heuristic, for example text that reads as hard). Inferred findings are worth a second look before you act.

A check that cannot finish says could not verify and never lowers your score.
